1. Boundless energy

She introduces herself to them with a new name, a different persona. On the first day of her job, she radiates optimism and boundless energy. She throws herself into the activities and her hand is always up in the air to ask the questions nobody dares to ask.

Her smile is infectious and she's eager to make friends. She cheers her team and she shows that she's a bubbly, enthusiastic person. She has the biggest smile in the middle of the room.

2. Hidden among us

But she is hiding a huge secret. She doesn't talk about it. She thinks that it's nobody's business. There's no need to disclose it.

She delights in her anonymity and her perfect ordinariness. Here she lies hidden among us. She seeks cover in plain sight.

3. Reunion

Working for the same account in a different company brought new faces and old acquaintances. She feels like she's in an endless reunion with a parade of comrades.

There's some kind of comfort in the knowledge that it's almost the same as the old company because of the people she's going to work with.

4. Sacrifice

She chose to leave her family again because she believed that it was a necessary sacrifice.

Having an illness shouldn't stop her from having a life.

She had a second chance at life. This was her spring, her summer. She could bloom again.

So she slowly ticks off the checks on her to-do list. Job, apartment, boyfriend, friends...

She can live without her family for a little while. She swears she'll come back to them when she's ready, when she's tired of the city and when she's old enough.

5. Served your purpose

Of course, there were days when she went home.

She always felt that she'd already served her purpose and that's why she should feel proud. Her siblings had finished college. They have jobs. They're leading more productive and useful lives...

6. Bittersweet

Yet she felt like she failed somehow. She was being left behind. They're moving forward but she's stuck in the past. She was happy but she was also sad. It was a bittersweet feeling. She didn't like it.

7. Reaching

So she tried her best in reaching forward to grab her future.

Nobody can blame her for wanting to shape it in the only way she knew how.

She was always stubborn and she believed she was invincible. As long as she's reaching for it, she'll eventually grasp destiny by the balls.

8. Fortune

When she's home, she also marvels at her sister and brother's good fortune. They have relationships that spans years. They have jobs. Her youngest brother was fortune's favorite son.

She looks down at her hands and wishes that she was also fortunate. Empty hands, empty heart.

9. Mail

There is a boy at work who smiles at her. She smiles back, warm and friendly. He asks her why she never replies to his messages on Facebook. A frown crosses her face then a smile brightens it. He thinks that he sees the sun breaking out of the clouds.

"I don't use that account anymore," she giggles. "That's why I don't get your mail."

He sighs in relief when she adds him up. Now he can begin.

10. Technology

He starts talking to her over chat and she responds.

Minutes will become hours. Hours will become days. Days will become weeks.

He's willing to take as much time as needed to reel her in.

11. Introspection

She surveys the boy who likes her covertly. She stares at him through her eyelashes and she never lets him see her checking him out. It's always nice when someone likes you.

He was tall, stocky and tanned. She thinks that he's not her type. He's not attractive to her at first because she likes someone else.

Days will pass before she realizes that the boy is always in her mind. Her daily introspection will include the gentleness and tenderness of the boy who was slowly planting himself firmly in the terra firma of emotions.

12. "What was that for?"

The couple watches a movie for the first time.

She doesn't see anything beyond his broad shoulders. Zombies weren't her favorite. He always laughs at her whenever she screams.

Soon, her screams were silenced by his lips.

"What was that for?" she asks in her mind. Then she decides that she doesn't care and let him continue.

13. Forever ours

Months will pass by. They don't care about celebrating their relationship. They grow into each other comfortably and it's beautiful progress.

She is giddy and she is floating in the clouds. Her hand isn't empty anymore because someone is holding it. She doesn't drift away to the fog of confusion and dread.

They don't talk about their relationship to other people. "Forever ours," they whisper to each other in the middle of the night.

14. Cloud 9

She floats in cloud 9 because she feels that she's found someone to love.

15. Holiday

She takes her boyfriend home to meet her grandmother on a holiday. It was great.

16. Dawn

She wakes up and realizes that she is living a different life. She is now a half of a whole.

17. Charisma. 

She dazzles him with her light and smile. When she looks up at him, he is instantly seduced.

18. Insomniac

He sleeps with a smile on his lips; on his hand is her picture. He is not alone anymore and he doesn't suffer from insomnia any longer.

29. V for Vendetta

He is teasing when he says he'll go as V for Vendetta for his cosplay. She reminds that the smile is disturbing.

30. Chemicals React

She didn't pay attention to chemistry before. He laughs when he figures out why they are work out. Opposites attract.

31. Neutralisation 

It's obvious that she is highly-strung, neurotice, anxious. When he smiles, it's the neutralization of all her concentrated energy.

32. Fox

He will always prefer the wolf to the fox but she begs to differ. She is the wily fox, the reddish brown coat blending with autumn foliage.

June saw the breakdown of their once-strong relationship. It was the beginning of the end. Their smiles faded. Their love waned.

She is an optimist; he is a pessimist. In spite of his negative mood, he finds himself smiling at the flip side.

She gets addicted to Glee at one point and he smiles when he hears her singing off-key. Sintunado (off key) or not, she is adorable

She whispers with a sly smile, "put your key into my ignition", when they heard r.kelly's rendition. He is mildly scandalized by her flirtatious behavior.

She annoys him with her obsession on using her new camera. When he asked, she always answers: I want you to smile only for me!

He knows that she doesn't see his soft and tender smile when he touches her hand for the first time.

She signs her new name for the first time with a purple pen. With a big smile, she shows him her signature. He approves.

40. "My apologies…" 

To be honest, he was an uptight kind of guy. When he committed a blunder, he always apologized with an awkward smile.

He watches her battle the Rubik's cube with a self-satisfied smile.

But he kisses her when she turns to him with a victorious smile. Every win deserves a badge of honor, of course!

43. "No more chocolate!" 

She demands a chocolate ban with a playful smile. He fights her ultimatum and wins after a fierce make-out session.

Once she gives him a bottle of silver stars. He receives her spontaneous gift and kisses her smiling lips.

When she writes her farewell letter, tears turn it into spotted paper. But she was smiling with a sweet sorrow.
